PHOTOS BY SCOTT FRIEDMAN PHOTOS BY SCOTT FRIEDMAN MILLSTONE — Area motorcyclists got the red carpet treatment when Triumph Motorcycles’ Demo Truck rolled into Xtreme Machines on June 19.

More than 20 brand-new 2010 model motorcycles, one from each of the sport, cruiser and touring models that Triumph produces, were available for motorcyclists to ride in organized demo rides. Customized and specialty motorcycles were also on display, as well as the latest trends in apparel and accessories. The dealership offered a free lunch, door prizes, music and more to those who participated, according to a press release from Triumph Motorcycles.

“Triumph has a great selection of sport, cruiser and touring motorcycles that are perfect for every type of riding, whether it’s a cross-country vacation or just getting around town,” Mike Resciniti, of Xtreme Machines, said.

Triumph is the British motorcycle manufacturer that gained national prominence in the 1950s by being featured in movies such as “The Wild One” with Marlon Brando and setting world land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Jim Callahan, North American marketing manager for Triumph Motorcycles, said, “Riding a Triumph is one the best ways for customers to get a meaningful impression of our motorcycles and make an informed decision about their motorcycle purchase,” he said. “Our demo trucks, which visit dealers including Xtreme Machines and select national motorcycle events, is one of the services that we offer to help make riding a Triumph as easy as possible.”

In order to take a demo ride on a Triumph motorcycle, riders must be at least 25 years of age and possess a valid motorcycle operator’s license. Riders and passengers must wear a Department of Transportationcertified motorcycle helmet, shoes, long pants, eye protection, jacket or long-sleeve shirt, and gloves.
